You know that feeling when you start a task but then get stuck and can’t seem to move forward? I know it must be difficult when there are so many tasks staring at you from all sides of your desk!
Get these tips and be on your way to a more productive day:
1. Set practical goals –
If you try to do too much in one day, it will wear on your mental state and make accomplishment feel impossible. The key is finding the balance between working hard enough for yourself while still maintaining realistic expectations about what can be accomplished without neglecting other aspects of life that are important too!
2. Get up an hour early –
Put your alarm clock back an extra hour and see what happens! You can use that additional time to do chores or finish any incomplete tasks before your actual work hours begin.
3. Make a list –
For some people, the thought of starting a new task can be overwhelming. When you have an extensive list in front of your face it becomes easier and more tempting to stay put on what’s currently being done rather than moving on to another item on this never-ending to-do list! The key here though is not thinking too far into future tasks or projects; try listing out all achievable things for today only so they don’t slip through our fingers because there’s always something coming up next week.
4. Spend time working on tasks you’ve been putting off –
Sticky notes are a great way to keep track of the little jobs that seem insignificant, but can really add up. Set aside an hour each day for these quick and easy tasks without getting overwhelmed!
5. Determine when to let go –
We all have those items on our “to-do” lists that just don’t need to be there anymore. If you’re not sure whether an activity needs completing, remove it! No matter who finishes them. This will help with time management and productivity.
6. Limit distractions –
When working from home, avoid answering phones and responding to texts during that hour. It’s important for you not only to focus on your work but also to keep up the momentum by sticking with what is planned out ahead of time instead of winging it!
7. Return the phone calls you missed each day –
When you get done working for the day, make sure to return any calls that you missed. If not then they’ll just keep getting longer and more complicated instead of shorter as we want them! When returning these phones, gets into a routine. Keep going.
8. Acknowledge your accomplishments each day –
Whether you crossed off one large task or seven small ones, the progress is worth celebrating and I’m sure that this feeling will carry over into future endeavors too!
You’ll feel like a total boss when you get everything completed on your daily list! This is because it shows that there are no giant tasks or projects we can’t complete.
